Felt a bit rough getting up around 10:30 with a bit of a headache. It cleared up after a nurofen with a coffee chaser, then washed that down with a couple of glasses of water. Gabrielle started on lunch preparations right away. The family tradition was to have everybody over for boxing day lunch to finish up the leftovers.
Hamish was ill on the Christmas day (which partially explained his aversion to Father Christmas) and was feeling much worse today. So Kate's family might not have been in attendance. However, Paul's parents, Angella and Romy (I'm sure I got the spelling wrong) were expected to show.
I gave my dad a call around 1:00 and had a nice chat with him and Jackie. Then I went to watch the start of the Sydney-Hobart yacht race. Audrey and Chris we the first to arrive. Audrey brought a couple of old yearbooks from Sea's school in Singapore where she taught. It was really cute going over old pictures of him as a kid and the things he wrote.

Zoe & Paul arrived next and of course Jasper went straight into the pool. Then Angella & Romy arrived and I greeted them at the door - a very nice couple.
Eventually Kate and Jason did come though poor Hamish couldn't eat or drink anything. He was quite miserable so Jason took him home before too long and Ben enjoyed being in the spotlight for the rest of the afternoon.
We had a great lunch and it was amusing watching Sea gorge himself. I'm not sure why but he was particularly gluttonous today. We basically picked at the leftovers for the rest of the day and in the evening when everybody but Joan had gone home, we watched another installment of Waking the Dead. Sea & I watched Ren & Stimpy then went to bed. A pretty relaxed day - I wouldn't mind if all Boxing Days were like this.
