I woke up a bit earlier today and caught up on my email and was thrilled to get pics of baby Elliot (below). Sea was feeling a bit worse today so I decided to go back and look for some goldenseal and we also had to mail off our Christmas cards. But first we watched some Aussie TV (better commercials than at home) and put off going out until we knew it wasn't going to rain.

We went back to the herbal place from the previous day and got the goldenseal after a bit of confusion (presumably because of my accent) where the girl thought I was asking for "gordonseal." It was pretty cheap compared to what we pay back home, and probably better quality. We also stopped by a drugstore where the lady told us our accents were "gorgeous." This was a bit of an ego boost if I must say, and it made up for the previous misunderstanding. I also picked up a notebook so I could write a journal for this travelogue and we finally went to a post office which was very chaotic and one of the workers was a bit abrupt with us. (Understandably, it gets pretty stressful there this time of year.) On the way back I looked for an opal for my mum. Found some relatively cheap rings, but I don't know if she'd like them.
In the afternoon, we met Kate -one of Sea's stepsisters - with her twins, Ben & Hamish, who are about 18 months old. They were shy at first but then warmed up to us and eventually Ben became very attached to me. We took them to the park across the to feed the ducks and pigeons, and some of the pigeons became very attached to Gabrielle (Sea's stepmum.) I wish I had my camera for that. In fact, I didn't get many pics on this day other than the one I took after shearing Sea's head with the clippers, the bbq we had for dinner, as well as a nice portrait of our buddy Mort, who kept us company while the bbq was on:

Mmmmm smell that bbq!

I suppose this was a big deal since we hadn't had bbq in a while.
