Woke up a little later today and was somewhat groggy. Probably from drinking more than I normally do. Sea was laughing in his sleep at one point in the middle of the night - not very loud - but it did wake me up, so I must be a light sleeper these days too.
I helped Euan with his camera and Sea worked a bit on configuring the wireless router. We all cleaned up the house for the family bbq today. The house is usually really clean, so there wasn't a lot to do. Food was prepared and the alcohol was purchased.
Zoe and Paul were the first to arrive and Jasper, was keen to show off his swimming skills, so straight into the pool he went with Paul. He really is a very good swimmer and is probably better at 3 than I am over 10 times his age. They were in there quite a long time.

Gabrielle went off to pick up her mum, Joan, who arrived next. I really enjoyed meeting her - she's a wonderful lady who anybody would want for a grandmother; and who enjoys the occasional glass of "Pink." This is essentially pink champagne, except that you can't call it "champagne" here. We all had a toast of Pink and sat around getting slightly tipsy while eating "Shapes." These are much like our Crispers in Canada but with different flavours.

"Pink."
Eventually Kate and Jason came by with the twins who we were waiting to finish their 3 hr afternoon nap. It was good to meet Jason, who is quite funny. Apparently, his dad Chris - who we'll meet at Christmas - is an old Singapore buddy of Euan's.
It was a great time drinking and chatting and waiting for the pork roast to cook on the bbq. When lunch (dinner?) was finally ready, the food was delicious.

Gabrielle with Bridget and her tasty rice krispie squares.
(Sorry Gabrielle, didn't realize you were eating!)
I didn't end up going for a swim, though the water was nice. (I probably would have drowned in my drunken state.) But we watched as all the kids splashed around.

Sea plays lifeguard.

Ben and Hamish (can't tell for sure but that's my guess) in the little pool.
Afterwards, the kids had to go home and we sat and chatted with Joan until it cooled off and Gabrielle took her home so she could watch The Bill. We ended up watching The Day After Tomorrow on TV. I had wanted to watch this ages ago but ended up falling asleep to it; but I managed to stay awake for it this time. My review: kind of crap but not terrible. Euan and Gabrielle went to bed and I tried watching some Asterix & Obelix movie with Sea but couldn't stay away and kept overheating from dehydration. Too much drink and sun for one day. And anyway, I thought the movie was a little weird and wasn't interested. So off to bed I went.
